Child Molestation case ends in guilty verdict

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI)- A jury has convicted Timothy C. Allbritton of child molestation in the third degree, a class C felony.
The Stoddard County Jury reached the verdict after deliberating for 38 minutes following a two-day trial in Bloomfield. The trial was held at the Stoddard County Justice Center.
Prosecutor Sawyer Smith represented the state, while Circuit Judge Robert N. Mayer presided over the trial.
Smith praised the jury’s decision, saying the victim’s testimony was “believable and credible, consistent and detailed.” He also thanked the investigators and staff members who assisted in preparing the case.
The conviction means Allbritton will be sentenced to the Department of Corrections for a term of years and will be required to register as a sex offender.
Smith acknowledged that “there are no winners in cases like this,” but expressed hope that the verdict would bring closure to the victim and better protect the community.
