Giving Tuesday for nonprofit organizations: Camp Ondessonk trying to meet their goal this year

Giving Tuesday

OZARK Ill. (KBSI) – It’s a new tradition where the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, people give to charities or donate their time to causes that matter to them.

Camp Ondessonk has been participating in Giving Tuesday since 2013.

Traditionally, the camp family supports the community on Giving Tuesday. This tradition continues today as it kicks off the year end giving campaign.

This year’s goal is to raise 20 thousand dollars.

Three generous camp friends have completed two of the three challenges.

The Executive Director for the camp, Dan King, says they’re well on their way to meeting their goal. King is encouraging everyone to donate to other nonprofits.

“The things in your life that are important and, make sure that if you’ve got room in your charitable giving budget that you give them some love on a day like today, whether it’s camp Ondessonk your church, a local school or another nonprofit, just find a way to show those organizations that you approve of what it is that they do,” stated King.

Camp Ondessonk is using the money they got today for the campers and the camp. Their hope is to keep this camp an enjoyable place for future generations.
