Mercy and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri reach new agreement
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KBSI) – Mercy and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri (Anthem) say they have reached a new multi-year agreement.
The new agreement will provide Anthem members with continued access to care at all Mercy hospitals, outpatient care centers and physician offices across Missouri.
Under the new contract Anthem members covered by Anthem employer-based, Medicare Advantage and Affordable Care Act Marketplace health plans in Missouri will have full and uninterrupted in-network access to Mercy doctors and care sites.
This comes after a September announcement released by Mercy stating that they would move out of network with Anthem on January 1, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached.
A new agreement has been reached as of Wednesday December 4, 2024.
Additionally, Missouri Care, Inc – doing business as Healthy Blue – has reached an agreement for the Healthy Blue Medicaid plans as well. Healthy Blue members will have continued uninterrupted in-network access to Mercy doctors and care sites.
