Juvenile life-flighted after crash

MAYFEILD, Ky. (KBSI) – A juvenile has been life-flighted after a vehicle crash.

The Mayfield Police Department says on December 10, 2024, they responded to a collision involving injuries at the intersection of Douthitt Street and Dick Castleman Bypass.

A Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a juvenile with a juvenile passenger, attempted to make a left turn from Douthitt Street onto Dick Castleman Bypass when the driver was hit in the driver’s side door by a Ford F150.

The F150 was driven by Matthew Dowdy, age 28 of Mayfield, and he had one passenger, Shirley Tynes, age 78 of Mayfield.

The juvenile driver was life-flighted to an out of state hospital due to her injuries.

Dowdy, Tynes, and the other juvenile were treated at JPMC ER for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mayfield Police Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Graves County Sheriff’s Department, and Mayfield Fire and EMS.
