Scott City community members hand out 100 food baskets

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – Saturday morning Scott City Fire Department assisted with distributing 100 food baskets to the community.

Special thanks to retired Fire Chief Jay Cassout for continuing to lead this program.

All year long we have raised funds under the leadership of retired fire chief Jay Cassout.

Adult and Teen Challenge met up with the group with their box truck and Ron Mason brought his trailer and they loaded up with 6 or 7 pallets of food.

The Sheriff Wes Drury supplied the rollers.

Then SC middle school Student Council put together 100 food boxes so people could have a Christmas meal.

Then Saturday in the SC 1st Assembly Gym everyone gave out 100 food baskets including 100 turkeys 100 gallons of milk and 100 dozen eggs.

Folks from the church, the fire department, the sheriff was all there.

The Scott City women’s club gave out gifts and clothes for kids, Scott City schools supplied the toys.

The community worked together to bless people in the community.
