Large car pileup blocking both lanes of traffic on 1-70

ILLINOIS(KBSI) – The Illinois Department of Transportation reports there’s a very large car pile-up that has both sides of traffic blocked.

According to IDOT a multiple car pileup has happened on I-70 near Greenup Illinois.

Illinois State Police Troop 9 units are on scene of a multi-unit traffic crash on Interstate 70 eastbound at milepost 124 east of Greenup.

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 are closed, and traffic is being rerouted to U.S. Route 40.

Lanes may be blocked for several hours, and citizens should seek an alternate route.
