Missouri man arrested in Arkansas after multi-state pursuit

KENNETT, Mo., (KBSI) — A traffic stop attempt turned into a multi-state pursuit on Jan. 7, ending with the arrest of a Kennett man in Arkansas.

Dunklin County deputies attempted to stop Joel Hancock’s Jeep at Emerson and Washington in Kennett around 12:55 p.m.

Hancock fled, crossing into Arkansas on Highway 84.

A joint effort by multiple agencies led to Hancock’s apprehension near Paragould, Arkansas.

Hancock, who had multiple felony warrants, was jailed in the Greene County Detention Center pending extradition to Dunklin County.

The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office credited the Kennett Police Department, Greene County Arkansas Sheriff’s Office, Paragould Police Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Marmaduke Police Department, and Arkansas State Police for their assistance.
