Man arrested in connection with Stoddard County theft, facing multiple felony charges

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Authorities have arrested a man suspected of stealing a trailer and farm equipment from rural Stoddard County.

The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the stolen property on Dec. 20, 2024. An investigation led deputies to serve a search warrant on County Road 284, where they recovered a stolen John Deere tractor valued at $32,000 and a stolen camper trailer valued at $10,050.

Jeremy A. Hicks, 35, of Wappapello, was identified as the suspect. At the time, Hicks had an active no-bond warrant for probation violation. He was arrested in Butler County on Jan. 8, 2025, following a joint investigation with Butler County deputies.

Hicks is currently being held in the Butler County Jail on local charges, as well as Stoddard County charges, including:

– Class C Felony Receiving Stolen Property: No bond
– Class D Felony Receiving Stolen Property: No bond
