Autopsy conducted on 19-year-old who died suddenly at Three Rivers College

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — A 19-year-old student at Three Rivers College in southeastern Missouri has died, and the college community is mourning the loss.

Butler County Coroner Jim Akers said the student, from Holcomb, Missouri, was found unresponsive in her dorm room Sunday, January 12, and was believed to have died the previous day.

An autopsy performed Monday, January 13, ruled out foul play, and the death is being investigated as a natural cause, Akers said.

Akers noted the autopsy has been conducted and tests are still pending.

The college canceled classes Monday and is offering counseling services to students, staff and faculty.
