Moped driver ejected, injured in McCracken County crash

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI)— A collision between a car and a moped in McCracken County sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at the intersection of US Highway 45 and Englert Road around 8:45 p.m.

According to investigators, Jaden Smith, 21, of Paducah, was operating the moped northbound on US Highway 45 when a 2008 Toyota Camry, driven by Chung Hung, 40, also of Paducah, struck the moped from behind.

Smith was ejected from the moped and sustained incapacitating injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Hung was also hospitalized as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing.
