Peace Chapel Church to Host 25-Hour Gather SEMO Event in Jackson, Missouri
Jackson, MO. (KBSI) — Peace Chapel Church in Jackson, Missouri, is gearing up to host a 25-hour event called Gather SEMO, aiming to unite people and believers from southeast Missouri and beyond. The event is set to run from February 28 at 7 p.m. through March 1 at 8 p.m., as the event looks to build community, inspire faith, and spark action.
Planning team member Jill Chrusciel says the event focuses on community and showing how faith can inspire positive change. “He (God) has ideas and vision for caring for the orphan and those in foster care and adoption. He has a heart for the homeless and those who are hurting. The overall message she says is: ‘You belong. You have a place here. You are wanted here,’” Chrusciel says.
Chrusciel describes Gather SEMO as a “one of a kind event” made possible by modern technology, allowing people from all over the world to participate. “The main takeaway we want people to have is that God is working here in our community. It’s about being inspired to see our community improve and help those in need,” she says.
Sara Gerau, another planning committee member, talks about the inspiration behind the event. “We’ve been part of the IF Gathering in previous years and have seen its impact. Now, we’re excited to expand this event worldwide to reach men, women, and children. It’s about coming together as one community under God, beyond individual churches or religions.”
Gerau talks about her excitement for the event’s potential. “Last year, I attended an event with 10,000 women worshiping together. We may not reach that number here, but even if it’s just one person impacted, it’s worth it. That’s one more life for the Kingdom of God.”
Organizers want everyone to know that Gather SEMO is open to everyone, whether they attend for a few hours or the full 25. “You are wanted and needed here,” Chrusciel said. “The goal is to create space to listen to what God wants to tell us and take action to better our community.”
With a mission to inspire, connect, and serve, Gather SEMO looks to be a transformative event for all who attend.
