Carbondale Police Department looking for applicants for Citizen’s Academy

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The Carbondale Police Department is accepting applications for its Spring 2025 Citizen’s Police Academy until Feb. 3.

The free academy aims to foster positive relationships and understanding between law enforcement and the community.

Participants will gain insight into police operations, including patrol tactics, investigations and crime scenes.

Classes will be held on five consecutive Wednesdays, starting Feb. 5, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Applicants must undergo a background check.
