Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney: Investigators determined school allegations reported to Dexter Police to be untrue

We have a follow-up to a story we brought you earlier this week.

Friday afternoon, the Dexter Police Department and the Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney determined allegations made against the Principal and Assistant Principal of Dexter Middle School to be false. The prosecuting attorney says this determination is based on information obtained following an investigation into accusations of misconduct/sexual misconduct involving a student.

On January 29, a police report detailing the accusations was filed, at which point an investigation began. On February 6, the prosecuting attorney says the student recanted the story and the accusations.

Based on the original complaint, KBSI reported on the  allegations. Upon learning that the allegations reported to the police were not true, we immediately took down our story.   KBSI appreciates the efforts of the Prosecuting Attorney and the Dexter Police Department in setting the record straight.
