Orange Barrel Report Feb. 10th
(KBSI) — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that construction on two bridges carrying Town Hall Road and Melugins Grove Road over a ditch along U.S. 30 is set to begin Feb. 25, weather permitting.
The $3.7 million project, located about a mile west of Illinois 251, will demolish and replace the existing bridges. Both roads will be closed south of U.S. 30, with a marked detour in place during construction.
Access to homes will be maintained throughout the project, which is expected to be completed by September.
In a separate project, the Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve the intersection of Route M and County Road 459 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The work aims to enhance sight distance at the intersection.
Construction is expected to start as early as spring 2026, following the completion of the Route M resurfacing project. The roadway will be closed near the intersection for about two months during construction.
