Shawnee Community College hosts celebrate soulfully event

ULLIN, Ill., (KBSI) — The Shawnee Community College Cultural Awareness Team organized the Celebrate Soulfully event, featuring guest speaker and SCC alumna Neimoya Basden, who shared her inspiring story of being the first in her family to attend college.

The event, held on the college’s main campus, included lunch provided by Big Ed’s in Paducah.

The college also showcased a display from the African American Museum in Mounds, Illinois, courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Josie Eason.
