2 Arrested on gun, drug charges after traffic stop

CHRISTOPHER, Ill., (KBSI) — A traffic stop on March 1 led to the arrest of two Benton, Illinois, men on multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon.

Dalexis D. Ransom, 22, and Marshun D. Johnson, 21, were taken into custody after a Christopher police officer pulled over their vehicle for multiple traffic violations.

Ransom was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield, suspended registration, unlawful possession of a weapon, and violation of the Cannabis Control Act, as well as an outstanding warrant.

Johnson was charged with obstructing identification, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and three outstanding warrants.

Both men were transported to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and released to jail staff.
