Jackson Junior High students pack 55,296 meals for hungry children worldwide
JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Eighth graders from Jackson Junior High School participated in a service-learning project, packing meals for hungry children worldwide.
The Feed My Starving Children Meal Packing Event was held at the Jackson Civic Center, where 425 students volunteered.
The event resulted in 55,296 meals packed, enough to feed 151 children worldwide.
The project aligns with the Jackson R-2 School District’s strategic plan, which aims to develop service-minded students.
According to event organizers, hunger remains a leading cause of death in children under 5, with millions dying annually from preventable causes.
Through the Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event, students learned the value of giving back while making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
