Kentucky man arrested on drug trafficking charges after traffic stop
LED BETTER, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop in Ledbetter on Monday led to the arrest of a Mayfield man on multiple charges, including drug trafficking.
Wesley Aldridge, 44, was pulled over by a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy at the intersection of US-60 West and Blankenship Road at approximately 3 p.m. After conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Aldridge was arrested for DUI.
A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, over $1,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from illicit drug sales, and drug paraphernalia indicative of drug trafficking.
Aldridge was charged with careless driving, failure to produce an insurance card, first-offense DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) — second or greater offense.
Deputy Zackary T. Dungan made the arrest, with assistance from a K9 unit from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Aldridge has a lengthy criminal history, including four previous convictions for trafficking in methamphetamine, multiple charges for methamphetamine possession, and a conviction for first-degree burglary.
