PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Two New York residents were arrested Sunday after a stolen license plate alert led Paducah Police to a stolen Jeep.

Joseph D. Horton, 45, and Rebecca L. Boyer, 46, both of New Berlin, New York, face multiple charges, including receiving stolen property over and under $10,000, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating on a suspended driver’s license.

Boyer was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Officer Samantha Taylor located the stolen 2017 Jeep Wrangler at a gas station on Wayne Sullivan Drive after receiving a stolen license plate alert through the Flock Safety Camera System.

The license plate was registered to a 2011 Jeep Wrangler and had been reported stolen in South Carolina, along with the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a pipe used to smoke cocaine, suspected cocaine in two clear containers, and needles.

Horton’s suspended driver’s license from New York was also discovered.

Both Horton and Boyer were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
