Caruthersville School District adds experienced officer as new school resource officer

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Caruthersville Police Department and Caruthersville School District have announced the hiring of Bryan Burgess as the new School Resource Officer (SRO) for the district.

Officer Burgess brings 30 years of law enforcement experience to the role, which will focus on enhancing safety and well-being for students, staff and the community.

Burgess will serve as a liaison between law enforcement and the school community, fostering positive relationships and providing a visible presence on campus.

The addition of Officer Burgess highlights the district’s and police department’s efforts to prioritize student safety and well-being, while fostering trust and cooperation between law enforcement, students and staff.
