McCracken County Sheriff’s Office charges Metropolis man with fentanyl trafficking

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – A 21-year-old Metropolis, Illinois, man has been charged with trafficking and importing fentanyl following a drug investigation in McCracken County, Kentucky.

Peyton Norwood was taken into custody in Illinois and later extradited to Kentucky, where he was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail on April 1, 2025. He remains incarcerated.

According to detectives, Norwood was transporting fentanyl from Illinois into Kentucky, where it was sold. An undercover fentanyl purchase was made from Norwood during the investigation, leading to an arrest warrant.
