Police identify possible suspect after shots fired report on April 1st

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Monday evening in the 1100-block of William Street.

According to authorities, officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:30 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire via ShotSpotter and from several citizens.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who stated that he was driving in the area when he encountered a suspect he had an ongoing feud with. The suspect allegedly produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds at the victim, striking his vehicle several times. The victim was not injured.

Police have identified a possible suspect, who remains at large. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
