Power outage hits Dexter amid transmission line failures

DEXTER, Mo., (KBSI) — A widespread power outage is affecting the city of Dexter, with restoration potentially taking a couple of days.

According to Ameren, several transmission line structures have failed, and while crews will work to repair the damage starting Thursday morning, the unique nature of transmission lines means the outage may last several days.

The Dexter Police Department is urging residents to be patient and not call to inquire about restoration times, as phone lines are also down, and no additional information is available.
