Burn ban issued for Delta Fire Protection District due to hazardous weather

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A burn ban has been issued for the Delta Fire Protection District due to hazardous weather conditions.

The Cape Girardeau County Commission and Delta Fire Protection District issued the ban as part of an emergency declaration, effective until further notice.

Residents are advised to postpone open outdoor burning until weather and fire danger conditions improve, as debris burning has sparked fires that have spread to other areas, threatening life safety.
