Two arrested after traffic stop yields narcotics

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – A traffic stop on North 17th Street near Clark Street led to the arrest of two individuals after a search of the vehicle yielded narcotics.

The incident occurred at 11:25 a.m. when Deputy Peyton Jackson and Detective Sergeant Seaton conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, Carrie Ann Runyon, 41, of Mayfield, was found to be impaired and was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, wanton endangerment in the second degree, possession of controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A passenger, Michael Hendley, 43, of Morehead, Kentucky, was charged with possession of controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

A 13-year-old juvenile was also present in the vehicle.

The search of the vehicle was conducted with the assistance of K-9 Drax from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

Both Runyon and Hendley were transported to the Graves County Regional Correctional Center and later to an out-of-county jail facility.

The incident was also assisted by Deputy Josh Anderson and Detective Tony Cornwell.
