Employee arrested for bringing contraband into McCracken County Jail
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – A contract employee was arrested after allegedly bringing contraband into the McCracken County Jail and engaging in an intimate relationship with an inmate.
According to authorities, the incident began on April 14, 2025, when jail employees received a tip about the employee’s activities.
Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office investigated the allegations and determined that Misty Young, 44, of Paducah, Kentucky, was involved. Young, a kitchen worker contracted through a dining company, was charged with:
Sexual Abuse 1st Degree
Promoting Contraband 2nd Degree
Official Misconduct 2nd Degree
Young was lodged in the Ballard County Jail following her arrest.
The McCracken County Jail is located at 400 Clarence Gaines Street in Paducah, Kentucky, and is operated by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office ¹.
