New park design unveiled to recognize Benton’s first responders

BENTON, Ky., (KBSI) — The city of Benton and Benton Gas have unveiled a design for a park honoring first responders.

The park, planned for the current site of Memorial Park, will feature a stage for events, space for food trucks and areas for seating, eating and relaxation.

The existing Memorial Park has fallen into disrepair, prompting the idea to create a new space honoring first responders.

Those previously recognized at Memorial Park will continue to be honored at the new location.

The public is invited to attend a council meeting on Monday, April 21, at 5 p.m. to provide input on the design before final approval.
