For residents like Pat and Eldon Fornkohl, the city’s parks continue to hold a soft spot in their heart.

“Yeah, it does feel like a good, safe spot,” said Pat, as they spent time outdoors enjoying the spring weather with their family. “They’ve got lots of different areas to play. It gives the kids a variety of things to do.”

They have been visiting this park for many years.

“When I was about seven, my grandma used to bring me here,” said Pat. “They had the big metal slide and the wooden swings.” “Now we’ve got five kids, and they all played league sports out here. It’s a special place for us.” said Eldon

Newton encouraged anyone who may see suspicious activity to report it immediately.

“You can contact the police department directly or use our mobile app to report anonymously,” he said.

The investigation into the stabbing at the AC Brase Arena is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to report it.
