Woman charged with first-degree assault after incident at local business

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A Paducah woman has been arrested in connection with an assault at a local business that left a woman hospitalized.

Lauren Weitlauf, 23, was taken into custody Tuesday in Hopkinsville by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.

The assault occurred April 16 at a business in the 2800 block of Lone Oak Road. The victim was shoved to the ground, suffering injuries to her shoulder and head.

Video surveillance helped detectives identify Weitlauf as the suspect, leading to a warrant for her arrest.

Weitlauf is currently being held in the Christian County Jail on a charge of first-degree assault.
