Union City’s Crawford wins decathlon title, advances to state

UNION CITY, Tenn., (KBSI) — Union City High School’s Adrian Crawford will compete in the Class 1A state decathlon championships after winning the West Sectional decathlon title.

Crawford, a junior, totaled 5,633 points in the 10-event competition, outdistancing the runner-up by 87 points.

In other sports news, the Union City baseball team defeated Lake County 22-3 in the District 14A Tournament.

The Lady Tornadoes tennis team clinched the District 14A championship, defeating Greenfield 4-0.

The Union City soccer team closed out its regular season with an 8-0 shutout over Bruceton.

The middle school golf team ended its inaugural season with a pair of wins over Obion County.
