3 Juveniles Stabbed in Franklin County Fight

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) — Three juveniles were injured in a stabbing following a fight in rural Franklin County late Tuesday, according to Franklin county authorities.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to reports of an altercation and found several individuals still at the scene, while others had already left. Shortly after, officials were notified that three juveniles had stab wounds.
“Deputies responded and located some of the individuals involved,” said Sheriff Kyle Bacon. “Others had already left. We were later notified that three individuals were at a local hospital seeking treatment for what was described as stab wounds.”
The severity of the victims injuries has not been fully released. However, Bacon said one of the juveniles was transferred to an out-of-state medical facility for further treatment.
“It started as a physical confrontation, and at some point, three people were stabbed with a knife,” Bacon said. “This is not a frequent call. Unfortunately, we do see occasional acts of violence that reach this level, and we address them as they come.”
Two juvenile suspects have been identified and charged with mob action, a Class 4 felony, and three counts of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
The investigation is on-going.
