Veterans and Fallen Heroes Organization supports local vets

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Veterans and Fallen Heroes Organization, a nonprofit group, is dedicated to supporting local veterans and heroes, particularly those residing in the Cape Girardeau Missouri Veterans Home.

The organization’s annual Poker Run event raises funds that go directly to the residents, providing them with essential items and experiences.

Throughout the year, the organization visits with residents, assesses their needs and uses donated funds to purchase items such as toiletries, clothing and entertainment equipment.

Recent purchases include a motorized wheelchair, a flattop griddle and recreational equipment for outdoor activities.

The organization relies on donations, sponsorships and participation in the Poker Run event to continue its mission.
