Illinois authorities apprehend Paducah man wanted on warrant

KANKAKEE, Ill. (KBSI) — Cortez Gray, wanted by the Paducah Police Department in connection with a shooting incident on April 19, was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Kankakee Police Department.

Gray, of Paducah, was taken into custody at 12:44 p.m. and lodged in the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee.

He faces charges of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon in connection with the incident, which involved multiple individuals exchanging gunfire on Ohio Street in Paducah.

The Paducah Police Department thanked the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Kankakee Police Department for their assistance in the arrest.
