Longtime pharmacist reflects on career, hospital’s 100th anniversary

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Dodson Cravens, Pharm.D., has been a part of the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center story for nearly five decades.

Cravens’ connection to the hospital began when he was an infant, and he was admitted to Doctors Regional Hospital, now Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, with a life-threatening illness.

He credits the medical staff with saving his life.

Cravens began his career as a staff pharmacist at Doctors Regional Hospital in 1976.

He has since become Director of Clinical Pharmacy and leads a weekly diabetes management class.

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Cravens’ legacy continues through his family, including his daughter and granddaughter, who are also pharmacists.
