Harrisburg police investigate shooting, take suspect into custody

HARRISBURG, Ill., (KBSI) — Authorities responded to a 911 call Monday at a Michigan Street residence after a woman reported being shot.

Officers found the 25-year-old victim walking to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. She was taken to a trauma center.

Police identified 30-year-old Amy N. Tolley as the suspect and took her into custody without incident at a west side residence.

Tolley faces preliminary charges including home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Saline County Central Dispatch or submit a tip through the Harrisburg PD app.
