23 Students graduate from Vienna High School Nursing Program
VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — Twenty-three new nurses graduated from the Vienna High School nursing program in a ceremony featuring remarks from local educators and officials.
The graduates, who will be certified as nurse assistants, completed a program regulated by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The program has become a springboard for students pursuing medical careers, with many graduates going on to work in hospitals and medical facilities in southern Illinois and western Kentucky.
“We take pride in knowing that these young adults will be caring for our region,” said Superintendent Dr. Joshua Stafford.
Fifteen juniors and eight seniors graduated from the program, with several students earning an Illinois State Board of Education-approved College and Career Pathway Endorsement in Health Science.
