Storm debris closes portions of I-57, IL-37 in Southern Illinois

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KBSI) — A powerful storm has left debris and downed power lines scattered across southern Illinois, blocking major interstates in one county.

Illinois State Police reported that I-57 northbound was closed at milepost 45 due to downed power lines. Traffic was being rerouted onto IL-148.

Additionally, IL-37 was closed due to storm debris, troopers said.
