Man arrested on I-24 after traffic stop yields large quantity of drugs
PADUCAH, Ky., Ky., (KBSI) — A Georgia man was arrested early Monday morning after a traffic stop on I-24 East yielded a large quantity of drugs.
Marques Reed, 35, was stopped by Officer Seth Farthing at approximately 12:30 a.m. near Mile Marker 2 for speeding. During the stop, Farthing smelled marijuana and Reed admitted to having two joints in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle uncovered:
Six pre-rolled marijuana joints
One THC vape
A loaded Taurus handgun
Two cell phones
A duffle bag containing approximately three pounds of marijuana
Approximately one ounce of cocaine
Reed was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in controlled substances and trafficking in marijuana, in addition to a speeding violation. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
