Sikeston man arrested, charged with stealing in connection with vehicle thefts
SIKESTON, Mo., (KBSI) — Sikeston police received reports of thefts from multiple vehicles in the 900 block of Cambridge Drive and Stanford Drive on May 27.
The thefts occurred overnight, and home security video showed a male suspect checking door handles for unlocked vehicles.
Officers identified the suspect as Curtis P. Williams Jr., 33, of Sikeston, who was wearing the same clothing as the suspect in the video.
Williams was taken into custody and charged with stealing. A warrant was issued, and he is being held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
Police believe Williams may be connected to other vehicle thefts in the area.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety reminded citizens to lock unoccupied vehicles and remove or hide valuables. Anyone with video footage of suspects is asked to provide it to authorities.
