Inter-agency cooperation leads to drug bust in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – What started as a traffic stop quickly led to an arrest on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Multiple Agencies worked together over the weekend in an arrest that led to the seizing of a large amount of methamphetamine.
Scott County Sheriff Derick Wheetley says this arrest shows the importance of inter-agency cooperation.
“This is a great example on why it is important to work well together on, I don’t want to say a minor call because intoxicated drivers are important as well, but this led to an arrest and what’s field tested positive for methamphetamines” says Wheetley.
According to Interim Chief of Miner Nathan Rapert their department was contacted by the Scott County Sheriffs’ Department stating that their department had received multiple 911 calls about an individual passed out behind the wheel or randomly stopping near the Kelly School District and the subject was seen entering into the city limits of Miner.
“Our agency conducted a traffic stop, during that traffic stop there was drug paraphernalia in plain view and in the console of the vehicle. So, an arrest was made” says Rapert.
34-year-old Charlesman Bobo of Haywood City, Missouri faces charges of 1st degree attempted drug trafficking, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
Over 200 grams of suspected methamphetamine was found in Bobo’s vehicle.
“It’s a good possibility with that large of an amount, of illegal narcotics its generally associated with the sales and trafficking of narcotics” says Rapert.
Bobo was taken to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
“Every amount counts. This is probably a higher amount then we’re used to around here but being next to the interstate it’s also not surprising but with today’s narcotics laced especially with fentanyl any amount we can get off the street is a win for everybody” says Wheetley.
