Fatal crash closes Route 127 North in Alto Pass

ALTO PASS, Ill., (KBSI) — Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on IL-127 north of Alto Pass.

The roadway is closed, and traffic is being rerouted. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes, such as Skyline Drive to Old Highway 51 North or US Highway 51 North.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office alerted the public to avoid the area shortly before 9 a.m.

The crash investigation is ongoing.
