Red Cross urges summer blood donations amid disaster risks

WESTERN KENTUCKY (KBSI) — The American Red Cross is encouraging blood donations this summer, citing the potential for disasters like hurricanes to disrupt the blood supply.

Donors can give blood at various locations throughout Kentucky, including Paducah, Murray and Mayfield, from June 16-30.

All blood types are needed, and donors can make an appointment by visiting Donate Blood, Platelets or Plasma. Give Life | Red Cross Blood or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

The Red Cross is also offering incentives, including a $15 Gift Card & Chance at $7K Prize for Donating Blood | Red Cross Blood, for those who donate in June.
