Orange Barrel Report June 10

(KBSI) A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to resume a nighttime, work zone lane restriction on Interstate 24 in McCracken County starting Friday, June 13.

The work zone spans from mile marker 16, near Exit 16, to mile marker 1 near the I-24 Ohio River Bridge.

Crews will work overnight, leveling and micro-paving the roadway in approximately 8-mile sections, alternating between the left and right lanes.

Work hours are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., including weekend nights as needed. A reduced speed limit of 55 mph will be in effect in the work zone.

This phase of the project is expected to continue through Friday, July 11, with a break for the July 4th holiday from June 28 to July 6.

Bloomfield Road in Cape Girardeau County will be closed as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.

Weather permitting, Bloomfield Road will be closed from South Mount Auburn Road to Siemers Drive in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, from Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26.
