Franklin County Sheriff’s Office makes arrest in residential burglary
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call on June 10 at approximately 11:13 p.m. regarding a reported residential burglary in rural northern Franklin County.
The caller reported arriving home to find her house had been broken into, with personal items bagged and left beside the roadway. She also reported seeing a female suspect fleeing the scene on foot.
Deputies responded quickly and located a female matching the description provided by the caller. Alexis N. Melville, 41, of Stonefort, Illinois, was identified and arrested.
Melville has been charged with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and theft, a Class A misdemeanor. She was also wanted in Williamson County for failure to appear on a charge of criminal trespass to land.
Melville is being held at the Franklin County Jail. She is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
