Man arrested after alleged home invasion in Arbyrd
ARBYRD, Mo., (KBSI) — A man was taken into custody early Thursday after allegedly forcing his way into a neighbor’s home, armed with a handgun and knife.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the residence around 11:28 p.m. Wednesday and made contact with the victim, who reported being cut with the knife and having the firearm pointed at him.
The suspect allegedly fired one shot outside before fleeing. Deputies ensured the victim’s safety and medical stability before attempting to contact the suspect at his neighboring residence.
After initial refusal, the suspect was persuaded to exit the home and was taken into custody around 12:15 a.m. A firearm was seized from the suspect.
The suspect, whose identity is being withheld pending formal charges, was transported to the Dunklin County Jail.
The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Arbyrd Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Kennett Police Department for their assistance.
