Deadly crash under investigation in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday on Interstate 55.

According to authorities, a 2022 Volkswagen Taos went off the road and struck a rock bluff around 11:45 a.m. about 9 miles north of Fruitland.

The driver, a 34-year-old man from Pevley, Missouri, was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
