Southeast Missouri State University approves $158.4M budget

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Governors has approved a $158.4 million balanced operating budget for Fiscal Year 2026.

The budget, which begins July 1, includes a 3.1% average increase in undergraduate tuition and fees and a 3.3% average increase in room and board rates.

The university anticipates a $1.6 million increase in state operating appropriations, bringing total state support to $55.2 million.

The budget also includes a 3% merit increase for employees and raises the minimum wage for student workers to $10.50 per hour and $15 per hour for full-time employees.
