Police investigate assault, robbery at Arkansas store

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark., (KBSI) — Authorities are investigating a first-degree assault and robbery at a convenience store near the Arkansas-Mississippi state line.

According to police, a black male and female entered Car Macs on Interstate 55 around 1:50 a.m. and attempted to buy alcohol. After being told it was too late, an argument ensued and the suspect shot the clerk.

The victim was taken to a Memphis trauma center and is listed in stable condition.

The Mississippi State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Blytheville Police Department are assisting in the investigation.
