Du Quoin police investigate string of vehicle burglaries

DU QUOIN, Ill., (KBSI) — The Du Quoin Police Department is investigating a string of vehicle burglaries reported within the city limits over the past week.

Police say suspects entered unlocked vehicles and stole valuables. Surveillance footage from homeowners and businesses helped identify multiple juvenile suspects.

The department is forwarding its findings to the Perry County State’s Attorney’s Office for review and potential charges.

Police are encouraging victims to file reports and asking anyone with information or surveillance footage to come forward.

The department reminds residents to remove valuables from vehicles, keep vehicles and buildings locked, and report any suspicious activity.
