Woman faces charges after SUV crashes into Caruthersville home

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — A 34-year-old woman faces multiple charges after an SUV crashed into a home in Caruthersville, injuring three people.

Ashley Hunter is charged with assault, armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child and leaving the scene of an accident.

The incident occurred Monday night at a home on Belle Avenue. According to court documents, social media videos show an SUV crashing into the front of the home.

Hunter admitted to driving into the home during a police interview. She was taken into custody after initially leaving the scene.

The injuries sustained by those outside the home are considered non-life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation.
